Event Information

Lillian Paula Carson by John Barrow (Winner of the 2016 Southern Playwrights Competition)

It's 1953 in a rustic mountain home in northern Georgia.  Three historical women stand up for what they believe in--even in the face of death.  Writer and social activist Lillian Smith, along with her lifelong companion Paula Snelling and southern writer Carson McCullers, dare to talk about segregation, sexuality, and the "real" south.  An award-winning play, "Lillian Paula.Carson" reveals the private lives of three courageous women--especially relevant due to themes of human rights. "Lillian Paula Carson" inspires both the mind and the heart.
